People's Liberty was a five-year philanthropic initiative that invested in Cincinnati residents with bold ideas for strengthening their communities. As the first Design Resident and a member of the inaugural fellowship, I helped shape the identity of the residency experience through naming, branding, and communications.
My Contributions:
Naming
Brand identity
Communications
Publication design
Photography
Website & social media
Working closely with the program team I developed the name The Society of Mad Philanthropists through a process of exploring the residency's purpose, language, and values. The resulting identity extended across welcome materials, participant communications, the website, and other touchpoints that introduced new residents to the fellowship and its culture.
Beyond design, the residency was deeply immersive. I documented events and the construction of the Globe Building through photography, wrote blog content, and spent time learning about Cincinnati's neighborhoods, philanthropy, and nonprofit ecosystem. Those experiences shaped both the work itself and the way I think about design as a tool for storytelling, relationship building, and civic engagement.
Separately, I wrote and designed Disrupt!, an event planning toolkit that shared practical guidance, templates, and lessons learned for organizing community events.
